The electrical installation of a data centre with emergency power units and UPS systems.

Thanks to a project-based approach and a first-class cooperation with the Client, we were able to deliver the SM6 MV cells + transformers, 2 Okken power distribution boards, 4 Prisma distribution boards and 3 static no-breaks within the tight deadline.

A general view of the UPS room. On the left you can see the LV distributing board that feeds the UPS. This board gets its electric power either from the Normal Network (MV transformers) or from the Assured Network (emergency power units). The UPS itself consists of 3 parallel-connected no-breaks of 300 kVA each (15 minutes when running at full capacity). On the right you can see the LV distruting board, which distributes the current coming from the UPS to the 24 LV distributing boards in the computer room.

The generator board, type 4B, distributes the power from 1600 kVA diesel generators.

In order to distribute the power to the LV distributing boards in the computer room, another board, type 2B, was used. This board, is equipped with the requisite measuring equipment, overvoltage protection and contacts for remotely-operated warning signs.
